Once every Monday our class takes a walk to the north Portland library. We go there to find books to read for read to self time in class. This holiday season Clio and Amelia made a holiday card saying thanks to the staff of the library. We are grateful for everything they do for us. Here is a picture of us holding the card at the library. By Clio and Amelia fifth grade
On Friday December 18th we are having the 4/5 storyline night. The teachers have rented a blowup planetarium from OMSI. We are going to display the paper mache planets that we made in art class and our plastic bottle rockets. We will also be displaying a trifold board with some info about density, dark matter, and gravity. Our storyline characters will also be displayed. We did a density experiment and tested the density of everyday objects like a tack, a small wooden cube, and a marble. We made galaxy dough and tested inertia and potential energy.
